The ‘Early Bird’ reading has been very positive and a real success each morning helping our learners to practise and improve their reading skills. Many parents/carers take advantage of this each morning. The most important part is that you are present as support for your child. I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the expectations for all year groups.
When the doors open at 8.30am you and your child can come in and read together for 10 minutes.
Everyone is expecting it to be a quiet, calm session.
No learner should be left by Parent/Carer before 8.40am even if a member of staff is present. (Staff are preparing for the days teaching and organising resources).
Please ask older learners to remain outside as rooms can get too busy if too many people come in.
Remember daily reading and comments in the ‘reading diary’ = ‘smiley faces’, which added together make ‘stamps’.
